Jewellerybox's partnership with recycling app reGAIN is set to benefit both their customers and the environment.
The online retailer, based in South-London, are all about crowd-pleasing. Concieved in 2014, their raison d'être is to bring customers real jewellery at costume prices. The staggering range of over 10,000 pieces, fashioned from sterling silver and 9ct gold, are available to customers in over 100 countries world-wide, offering same-day delivery to customers in London.
The app, reGAIN, allows customers to recycle unwanted clothing in exchange for exclusive retailer discounts. By posting a minimum of 10 clothing items, using a printable free-post label or leaving at a designated drop-off point, users of the app can gain access to a list of coupons for 10 days. The clothes will then either be reused or turned into new clothing by recycling the fibres. Jewellerybox is the fist jewellery retailer to join the scheme, and offers a 20% discount to participating customers.
As well as partnering with reGAIN, jewellerybox have taken steps to ensure that almost 100% of their packaging is recyclable, including the craft jewellery boxes used.
Director Alex McMillan, said “jewellerybox is proud to be joining regain along with some of the UK's biggest online retailers. We are very proud to be possibly the only jewellery retailers with close to 100% recyclable packaging. Our social consciousness is very important to us, treating our planet with the care and love it deserves, and when we heard that 300,000 tonnes of unwanted clothing go to landfill every year in the UK, we wanted to try to do our bit to reduce this number. We are excited to be supporting and encouraging our customers new and old to recycle more and think about waste in fashion.”
Through 2018 jewellerybox put emphasis on their recyclable packaging and aims to do more to help the planet in 2019. With almost 75,000 customers on their mailing list, they hope to encourage a large percentage of these customers to recycle with reGAIN.
