Jack Ostrowski, from reGAIN explains: "We know that we can't stop people from buying clothes, but we can incentivise them to change their habits and divert hundreds of tonnes of clothing from UK landfill."

- Shop for clothes out of season to get the best bargains, so stock up on sun dresses for 2019 at the end of this summer.
- Want new clothes but don't have the cash? Hold a clothes swap with pals.
- Hand-me-downs are cool, even Princess Charlotte is wearing them. But make younger kids feel better about second-hand by teaching them to customise with simple sewing techniques, patches or fabric paints for a unique look.
